Game Summary
Ascension is a 2D hack and slash dungeon crawler with a slew of spell slinging action packed fun. Inspired by games such as Wizard of Legend and Enter the Gungeon, Ascension aims to challenge players with the daunting task of ascending the treacherous tower and earning their prize at the top.
Gameplay Overview
Introduction
Players start off with a spell of their choice, and they will only add more spells to their arsenal as they ascend the tower. They also get to choose 2 different types of melee and ranged weapons, namely the sword, axe, bow and crossbow. Each weapon has its own benefits and disadvantages, depending on the player's preferred play-styles.
Progression
Going through each room of the dungeon, the player receives coins and experience points to level up. On rare occasions, new spells will also drop for the player to pick up to use in battle.
With every level, the player gains ability points for the them to spend in order to grow stronger as the game progresses and enemies become much tougher to fight. In the ability tree interface, they will firstly be introduced to the 3 main paths that they can take - Ranged, Melee, Spell-Slinging. These 3 paths will then each split further into 2 more paths with skills of greater utility and strengths.
Here are the 6 main classes that players can choose to specialize in:
Berserker (Melee/DPS)
Guardian (Melee/Tank)
Bowmaster (Ranged/DPS)
Bandit (Ranged/Utility)
Archmage (Spell/DPS)
Druid (Spell/Utility)

Bosses
A final boss battle lies at the end of every floor, each with their very own behaviours and mechanics.

Achievements

At the very top of the tower, achievements are unlocked depending on the play-style or class that the player has chosen to invest their ability points in. This will also take other statistics such as melee/range/spell usage to determine this achievement.
